Company Profile
Founded in 1870, this area has been a major producer of Japanese tea since ancient times, and tea cultivation and manufacturing techniques have been handed down for many years. Shizuoka tea, which is grown with high-quality, abundant water and optimal soil, wins the Japanese Tea Award every year.
The Yuhi region in the central part of the prefecture is surrounded by mountains, has short hours of sunlight, and is surrounded by large temperature differences between day and night, as well as soft morning dew, making it an ideal environment for growing tea.
The taste and aroma of Shimada tea is first class even among the many Shizuoka teas available, and in 2013, Shimada city held a tea ceremony to produce new tea to be presented to the Imperial Family, and the tea gardens in the Yuhi area were designated as the gardens to present tea to the Imperial Family.
We at Fuji Ryokuka Tea hope to provide many people with the opportunity to enjoy Shizuoka tea, and that through Shizuoka tea, people will be able to calm their minds and feel the charm of Japanese tea.
